Since becoming interested in photographing the night sky, and consequently nightscape photography, I am constantly being asked how these images are made. Is it difficult to do? Can I take one with my smartphone? How much editing is involved? Well, the aim of this site is to try and de-mystify this style of photography and thus make it accessible to a wider audience.
Although I have been a keen amateur landscape photographer for over 40 years, I am not a professional, nor an expert. However, I do enjoy the ongoing learning experience that goes with any style of photography. Night photography will challenge you, your sensor and your lenses' capabilities, and will certainly help you to understand the various modes, bells and whistles that adorn the modern digital camera.
